On Wednesday, Louis Vuitton unveiled plans to venture into the beauty industry this coming fall. Leading this new initiative is Dame Pat McGrath, the renowned British makeup artist, who will take on the role of creative director for makeup at Louis Vuitton.
McGrath has worked alongside a variety of designers and fashion houses, including Louis Vuitton. She was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2014, and in 2021, she became the first makeup artist to receive the honorary title of “Dame” from Queen Elizabeth II. In 2015, she also launched her own makeup brand, Pat McGrath Labs.
“After more than 20 years backstage at Louis Vuitton fashion shows, I am thrilled to be part of the launch of Louis Vuitton beauty,” said McGrath. “Blending craftsmanship, creativity, and groundbreaking innovation, what we are about to unveil will take beauty to an entirely new dimension.”
Beauty has always been intertwined with the travel heritage of Louis Vuitton. Since its creation, the house has designed exquisite cases to hold and transport beauty essentials, perfumes, and delicate cosmetics.
Further information regarding Louis Vuitton’s beauty product line is anticipated to be announced shortly.
Pietro Beccari, chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, remarked: “The launch of Louis Vuitton Beauty is a natural evolution for the House. With an obsessive focus on quality, formulation, and innovation, this new category will allow us to accompany our clients in their daily lives while staying true to our creativity and heritage.”
