Pat McGrath Labs is currently navigating a significant restructuring and recapitalization phase, according to various reports.
As part of this recalibration, the company is scrutinizing its assets, with certain items—including its trademark and logo—potentially on the auction block. Bids must be submitted by January 26, with an auction scheduled for the next day. This initiative is being overseen by U.S.-based financial services expert Hilco Global.
Established by renowned British makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath, the brand marked its 10th anniversary this past October. Pat McGrath Labs experienced phenomenal growth following its inception, achieving unicorn status in 2018 after securing investment from Eurazeo, which valued the company at over $1 billion.
In the past few years, however, the brand has confronted various operational hurdles, including executive turnover and layoffs. Its valuation has reportedly declined significantly from its earlier heights.
This announcement comes just a year after McGrath was appointed creative director for Louis Vuitton’s inaugural makeup line, La Beauté, which launched this past summer.
