It might be the only café in the world where you can order a flat white and a white shirt.
Karl Lagerfeld has quietly opened its first branded café, located next door to its global headquarters in Amsterdam.
“We wanted to create a place where people can connect with the world of Karl in a new way, beyond fashion,” said Pier Paolo Righi, chief executive officer of the fashion house.
The compact venue offers specialty coffees and pastries developed in collaboration with Amsterdam-based atelier Pantopia, which turns out buttery cinnamon buns, croissants, flans and even cruffins.
Visitors can also browse a curated selection of books, collectibles, figurines, accessories and the brand’s signature white shirt, synonymous with the late German founder — who incidentally adored the caffeine rush of espresso washed down with Diet Coke.
Located at 32 Raadhuisstraat, the café’s decor echoes the brand’s “Future Legacy” store concept that debuted at its London flagship on Regent Street in 2024. Materials include brushed metal, natural stone, raw concrete, and reflective surfaces.
Behind the barista hangs a neon cameo of Lagerfeld, immediately recognizable with his ponytail and sunglasses.
The brand is to host a street party outside the café on Saturday to celebrate WorldPride Amsterdam 2026.
Lo and behold, Paris Hilton, a Lagerfeld brand ambassador, dropped by the eatery on Thursday. She’s in Amsterdam for a live DJ set as part of the World Pride Music Festival.
From early Saturday through to mid-September, the brand will also install a retail pop-up adjacent to the café offering a curated selection of Karl Lagerfeld collections.
